The Department of Midwifery & Radiography boasts a thriving team of academics committed to developing highly competent practitioners and future healthcare leaders via our pre-registration and postgraduate programmes. Our department hosts the Centre for Maternal and Child Health Research, meaning staff and students benefit from the synergies of excellent teaching and world-class research.
Responsibilities
We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Lecturer in Midwifery who has academic and teaching experience in the field, and who will make a significant contribution to our undergraduate, postgraduate and CPD provision. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and deliver innovative and engaging education, contributing to our pre- and post-registration programmes and modules. The successful candidate will design & mark student assessments, supervise dissertation work and act as personal tutor to students; they will undertake department administrative duties and contribute to staff and student events and meetings. There will be opportunities for personal and professional development.
Person Specification
The successful candidate will be expected to deliver high quality and engaging teaching across our midwifery and perinatal health programmes and modules, tailored to the diverse needs of our learners, and informed by research, scholarship and professional experience. Candidates must be registered with the NMC as Midwife and should possess an honours degree and experience in teaching and supporting student learning.
