This is an exciting time in radiography education at Birmingham City University. We are at the forefront of radiography education and are dedicated to providing our students with the very best learning, teaching and support to help them develop both professionally and personally as radiographers, as well as enabling other professionals to develop in their imaging knowledge base and skill set. Due to retirement, we offer you this great opportunity to join our fantastic team.

This post is permanent and is available for full time hours however part time of 0.8FTE will be considered for the right candidate.

In working with us you will take an active role in the delivery of, and take responsibility for, learning and teaching mainly within our undergraduate courses, as well as the assessment of students. We want all our students to enjoy their learning and their time with us – you will be part of the team that makes that happen.

This role includes the opportunity to support the student learning of skills within our Radiography skills suite, through classroom (face-to-face and virtual) based teaching in small groups and larger ones. You will be regularly liaising with our clinical placement partners and supporting students whilst they are in the placement environment, either as employee apprentices or as students of the university.

You will:

  • Have recent clinical experience in general imaging,
  • Experience in CT would be preferred but is not essential,
  • Hold relevant radiography qualification(s),
  • Have experience of teaching and supporting learners in a clinical and/or university setting,
  • Have excellent communication skills,
  • Be passionate about radiography education.
