We are looking to appoint a confident, enthusiastic, and forward-thinking educator to support delivery of our Advanced Critical Care Practitioner (ACCP) Programme in University of Plymouth, there are two 0.5 post on offer.
The ACCP programme commenced at University of Plymouth in 2015, adding to the extensive profile of advanced practice provision that included the MSc Advanced Professional Practice (Clinical Practitioner) and the Surgical Care Practitioner programmes. The programme started with a postgraduate diploma, developed to a full MSc, and is directly aligned to the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine (FICM) ACCP curriculum developed in 2015, and are currently the only HEI to be fully accredited by both FICM and the Centre for Advancing Practice.
This is an exciting opportunity to assist the delivery of advanced practice learning, contributing to the academic and clinical development of our students, in a small programme team within an innovative school. You will also have opportunity to contribute to research within the school through one of many research active groups, aligned to clinical schools within local NHS Trusts.
You must be a registered healthcare professional (General Medical Council, Nursing and Midwifery Council, Health, and Care Professions Council) and ACCP qualification with FICM membership. Having experience supporting students with teaching, learning and assessment will be useful, along with a teaching qualification. If you do not have a teaching qualification you must be willing to work towards achieving this, with our support.
These are permanent positions, offered at 0.5 FTE, working 18.5 hours per week. The unique nature of our programme will require you to travel throughout the academic year, visiting students and their mentors in placement locations across the United Kingdom. This will include some overnight stays, with an annual travel commitment in the region of 15 days (3 weeks). As these are part-time positions, we welcome applications from practising clinicians who are looking to develop their educational expertise, alongside their clinical portfolio.
These roles will require an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check plus an Adults’ Barred List check.
You must currently be registered with the following registration board: The Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC).
