About the role
Reporting directly to Chiropractic Clinic Lead, the Lead Practice Educator (Chiropractic) will be responsible for the education and training of chiropractic students in the onsite clinic, and for ensuring excellent and safe patient care. They will be responsible for the quality of the chiropractic clinical placement experience. This is an important and prestigious role within the institution, and the post-holder will help to ensure that the University College continues to provide an internationally-recognised centre of excellence for patient care, chiropractic education and training, and applied research. They will be an important role model to students and colleagues alike, promoting evidenced-based and person-centred care in a multi-professional setting. They will also be open to exploring the role of chiropractic in improving population health as part of an integrated service model.
The role requires working in close partnership with Clinic Tutors, Clinic Operations Manager, colleagues in the School of Chiropractic, other clinical colleagues, professional services staff, students, patients and service users to ensure a culture of openness, shared responsibility and collaboration. There will also be engagement with external stakeholders and a commitment to maintaining awareness of best practice in the delivery and support of student clinical education.
About the person
The post holder will be a registered chiropractor, with substantial post-qualifying clinical experience. They will have experience in and a passion for delivering high quality education and training. They will have a national level profile in the chiropractic profession, gained through clinical, professional and / or educational roles, and a desire to promote the institution’s reputation as an important global leader in this field. They will also have a strong personal commitment to person-centered practice in line with the values of the chiropractic profession and the University College community. They will be a team player who has excellent communication skills and an ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
