As part of its comprehensive review, Newman University, Birmingham is extending its portfolio to include professional Nursing and Allied Health programmes. The University already offers a range of subjects aligned with health and care education. These include undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Counselling and Psychotherapy, Health and Social Care, Psychology and Sport.

This post offers a unique and exciting opportunity for an experienced, skilled and ambitious academic leader to join Newman University at an early stage of the development of Nursing and Allied Health provision.

As the Head of School, you will develop, lead and manage the School of Nursing and Allied Health. This will include liaison with appropriate Professional Statutory Regulatory Bodies (PSRBs) including the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) as well as other relevant PSRBs to secure accreditation and lead and manage the provision in line with University and PSRB requirements.

You will have a unique opportunity to recruit and appoint key staff to the School as well as having line management responsibility within the School. You will also work with the University’s executive team to develop and build on strategic relationships with practice partners including securing placements as well as developing educational commissions and appropriate research partnerships.
