Working closely with the Pro Vice-chancellor, Deputy Dean, Associate Dean for Student Success, Heads of School and relevant functions of Professional Services, the Head of Professional Accreditation and Quality will ensure the alignment of activities related to learning, teaching and quality assurance with the strategic priorities of the University.

The post holder must have excellent knowledge of Higher Education and a detailed knowledge of a regulatory framework, such as OfSted, NMC, HCPC. The role involves tracking and monitoring the PSRB and Accreditation requirements of professional programmes to ensure we are meeting and exceeding the regulatory expectations.

The post holder will be the strategic developer and coordinator of faculty activity related to teaching, learning, and assessment and will play a significant role in informing and setting relevant faculty strategy. The post holder will be responsible for operating across three schools, to coordinate activity with other quality leads across the University. They will be the key quality link to all external engagement with PSRBs and strategic teaching and learning partners ensuring that reports are prepared in good time and highlighted to the senior leadership.

In addition, the role holder will bring UK, regional and sector-related quality agendas to the fore within the schools, ensuring the strategic response of the faculty is agile and outward facing. In taking forward the strategic elements of the role the post holder will put students at the heart of all they do and will also consider opportunities for partnership working.

As a key post within the Faculty Executive leadership team, the post holder will be a role model in visibly inspiring; aligning; collaborating; co-creating; enabling; and evolving colleagues’ behaviours across the remit of the post. Success in this influential leadership role will be evidenced through the work done across the Schools, in collaboration with colleagues in other areas of the University, and with external partners.
