The School of Health, Science and Wellbeing was formed in September 2021 and brought together our academic departments across the health, science and wellbeing subject areas. The School is built on strong research, knowledge exchange and learning & teaching and provides opportunities to further our ambitions around patient safety, human factors and ergonomics; health and care inequalities – including the social and environmental impacts on health; the fast growing agenda around the need for investment and advancement of genomics; delivery of our safety enhancement ambitions in the healthcare sector; through to the opportunities to look at how we draw upon our existing and developing digital pedagogies to explore new approaches to course design and delivery including enhanced utilisation of simulation and immersive technologies.
We are now seeking an innovative and highly-energised Head of Department for Midwifery and Allied Health (Practice) to lead us towards our 2030 vision of healthcare education. The chosen candidate will work integrally and closely with the Head of Department for Midwifery and Allied Health (Theory) to ensure that our future provision stands-out to aspiring healthcare professionals, researchers and continuously developing professionals from health and social care. You will join a team of innovative, creative and passionate academics, professional support and leadership colleagues who will support you in your role.
