This is an exciting opportunity to lead the next phase in the development of the successful Division of Health Research (DHR) within the Faculty of Health and Medicine at Lancaster University, a top 20 university in all 3 UK league tables, 132nd in the QS World University Rankings and 122nd in the Times Higher Education World Rankings.
Providing academic and strategic leadership, the Head of DHR will be responsible for developing and encouraging excellence in all aspects of the Division’s teaching, research and engagement activities, helping to position Lancaster University as a leader in innovative applied health research and education.
Applications are invited from academics with experience of leadership and management who also have a relevant and sustained track record of research activity that maps onto one of DHR’s areas of expertise: palliative care, health inequalities and public health, mental health, ageing, organisational health and wellbeing, dementia, health economics and implementation science. You will have the ability to operate at a senior level, take a strategic approach and establish and maintain effective relationships with students, staff and external stakeholders.
This appointment is made on the basis of an indefinite permanent academic appointment at Professorial level.
