Sheffield Hallam aspires to be a genuinely great university creating opportunity, leading social, economic and cultural change in our region, and establishing a model of what imaginative and forward-thinking universities can achieve. The University has a simple aim – to transform lives. We are shaping futures for our students and the Sheffield City Region, creating knowledge that makes a real difference, and becoming a beacon for what a world-leading applied university can achieve. That is why Times Higher Education named us 2021 Outstanding Entrepreneurial University of the Year.
We have just been named University of the Year by Educate North, who also recognised us for our work on Social Mobility. This comes after already being named University of the Year at the UK Social Mobility Awards in 2021. We have risen thirty places in the past four years in the Guardian league table, as well as seen research income rise by 40% over the same period.
We have an ambitious programme of change for the future, simplifying the University’s academic offer and embedding flexible operation. As a result of these changes, we have a range of exciting academic opportunities available in various subject areas and research disciplines.
