Background
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual looking for a senior role within the university sector, by joining the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Social Care as the Faculty Director of Placement Learning.

The Faculty Director of Placement Learning is a vital role that leads and directs learning in practice within the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Social Care; including the joint Kent and Medway Medical School (KMMS)

The Faculty Director of Placement Learning is a core member of the Faculty Executive Team. They are responsible for leading and managing the Senior Lecturers in Practice Learning and will work in partnership with the Heads of Schools and Institute within the Faculty.

This post is key in the leadership, development, innovation and enhancement of practice learning opportunities. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and developing effective relationships with all health and social care placement providers for the Faculty and will be pro-active in managing and monitoring issues related to learning in practice, including PSRB requirements, quality assurance and safeguarding.

The role carries a high level of autonomy, and the post holder is expected to be resilient and a solution-finder, managing their own time.

Priorities on Employment

  • Strongly focus on leading the faculty response to the current challenging practice environments in the Kent & Medway region.
  • Use data and reports to develop a plan for reorganisation, constant quality improvement and evaluation, working with the Practice Learning Team and Practice Partners
  •  Reorganise and develop a team across the faculty to work collaboratively to ensure co-ordinated ways of working

Person

You will be educated to degree level in a health or social care subject and be a member of a relevant professional body, with experience of engagement with practice learning and assessment within a higher education, health or care context.
