BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy and MSc Physiotherapy
We are seeking two External Examiners for our BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy and MSc Physiotherapy programmes.
The Physiotherapy programmes at the University of Southampton provide a high-quality undergraduate experience for students leading to professional registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
External Examiners are typically appointed for a period of four years. Principle duties normally include:
- Visit the University at the least once a year to moderate assessed coursework and examination scripts, attend Board of Examiners meeting (may be virtual)
- Produce an Annual Report
- Review and approve examination papers that contribute to a student’s final award, and any other assessment material as agreed
This post will be with effect from 1 October 2021.
Applicants should hold appropriate academic qualifications; preferably have previous experience of acting in the role as an External Examiner and have a background in a range of health or health-related research methods. Fees and Expenses are payable in line with the University’s External Examiners policy.
Unfortunately, at this time we are unable to accept applications from the University of Cardiff.
Examination Boards take place twice a year (usually in June and November). If you would like to discuss specific information relating to the programmes, please contact Ruth Turk, Programme Lead – R.Turk@soton.ac.uk
If you are interested in applying, please forward your Curriculum Vitae and your area of interest/expertise by e-mail to the Faculty of Environmental and Life Sciences Curriculum and Quality Assurance team at firstname.lastname@example.org, outlining your teaching, research and External Examining Experience.
Closing date for receipt of applications: 13 September 2021
