The School of Nursing and Midwifery at Queen’s University Belfast is seeking to appoint four External Examiners, one to our pre-registration midwifery programme, BSc (Hons) Midwifery and three to our post registration Continuing Professional Development suite of programmes which include the BSc Health Studies, the BSc/Graduate Diploma and Postgraduate Diploma Specialist Practice, the Cognitive Behaviour Therapy short course and our post registration MSc programmes. Those whose interest include the CBT short course should be a fully accredited member of BABCP.
Experienced External Examiners would be preferred but those seeking a first position and having relevant clinical and educational experience may also be considered. All applicants must be at Senior Lecturer level or above. The role will commence on 1 October 2023 for a period of 4 years.
Full course details and documentation will be provided to the appointee with an induction on appointment. The post requires consultation regarding module amendments, external moderation of assessments, completion of an annual monitoring report and attendance at the relevant Board of Examiner meetings and in line with NMC requirements, visits to meet with students in Clinical Practice areas. Board of Examiner meetings are conducted with hybrid facilities.
