We are seeking to appoint an external examiner for Trainee Nursing Associate course. On completion students are eligible for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council as a registered Nursing Associate.
The TNA course is generic course and as such cover’s topics across all fields of nursing. External examiners will be required to contribute to the assessment process, externally moderate and report on student work, visit practice placements, attend Course Assessment Boards, and submit an annual report.
Appointees will have relevant field related experience, academic qualifications to post graduate level, including a recordable teaching qualification and will be registered with the NMC. Previous experience as an external examiner would be an advantage but not essential. Previous experience of apprenticeships not essential as training can be provided . The existing external examiners for this course remains in post until June 2023 and as such could offer mentorship to anyone appointed who was new to external examiner posts. An induction programme is provided for External Examiners.
The post would commence in June 2023. All appointments are for a period of four years.
