The University East London, Department of Nursing are seeking to appoint external examiners for our BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing programme to support our existing external examiners.
Our External Examiners play a vital role in the maintenance of the standards of the University’s awards and the currency of the curriculum. The duties will include the review of the students’ academic work and Practice Assessment documents plus visiting practice learning partners as required at least once a year, per the Nursing and Midwifery Council’s (NMC) requirements.
The post holders will review and approve the assessment tasks and examination papers; review samples of student work on modules within the programme, including practice documents and visits; the endorsement of marks to confirm that the marks are an agreed, fully moderate, and externally examine set of results; submitting annual reports; attending appropriate boards of examiners and agreement to programme modifications.
External examiner appointments are typical for a period of four years and the appointment will be to start as soon as possible. Successful applicants will have relevant experience and knowledge of pre-registration nursing education within Adult Nursing and are registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
