External Examiner – University Certificate in Health and Social care practice (UC) and Alternative Route in Health and Social Care Practice (AR) (1 year 60 credits level 4)

The Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Hull wishes to appoint an External Examiner for modules within our year-long Level 4 60 credit programmes. The UC programme has 3 intakes per year (September, January and May the AR programme has a September intake only. The students undertake two modules per trimester over 3 trimesters, to enable UCAS application and progression to our health undergraduate programmes.

The duties of the position are as follows:

  • Consideration and moderation of students’ assessments of theory learning.
  • Submission of an External Examiner’s Annual Report
  • Membership and attendance at Boards of Examiners
  • Collaboration with programme director, module leaders and administrative colleagues to inform the continued monitoring, review and enhancement of these programmes.

External examiners appointments are typically for a period of four years. Applicants with relevant experience and knowledge of level 4 education. Previous experience as an External Examiner is desirable but not necessary. Appointment is subject to meeting the University’s criteria for the appointment of External Examiners.
