The School of Health Sciences, in the Faculty of Environmental and Life Sciences, is looking to appoint an External Examiner for our undergraduate nursing (Mental Health) programmes.

The University of Southampton is a global leader for nursing, where students are supported by world-class educators and researchers.

We deliver programmes leading to registration as a single field Mental Health nurse (BSc) on a 3-year programme, or as dual field (MN), which confers registration in two fields of nursing (i.e., Mental Health and Child/ Mental Health and Adult) on a 4-year programme. Our programmes benefit from shared teaching and joint modules across programmes.
Previous experience as an External Examiner is desirable but not essential, as mentoring can be provided where necessary. Applications are invited from academics who have appropriate NMC registration, expertise and experience to maintain comparability standards.

Examination Boards take place twice a year. Fees and Expenses are payable in line with the University’s External Examiners policy.
