The Pre-registration Adult Nursing programme, in the Oxford School of Nursing and Midwifery, Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, Oxford Brookes University, is seeking to appoint an external examiner for the following course:

BSc (Hons) Nursing (Adult)

Plus some work from the following courses:

MSci Adult and Mental Health Nursing

The successful applicant would be appointed with effect from Sept 2023 for a term of four years, and would be joining a team of other external examiners to share the workload for the above courses. This appointment would primarily be focussed on the pre-registration Bachelors Adult Nursing course, but the successful examiner may be required to look at some work at Masters level too.

External examiners are requested to attend Subject Exam Boards each semester (four per year via Zoom) and to complete an annual report. Once a year the External Examiner is also required to undertake a visit to placement on either the Oxford or Swindon campus. External examiners are also required to provide comments on proposed modifications to modules and the development of new modules within their area of expertise.

You will need to have a current NMC registration.

This post would suit either those with previous experience of the role or would be a good first post for those looking to move into external examining.
