The School of HLS is seeking to appoint a subject external examiner to a range of modules within our post-registration suite of programmes. The remit involves assessment of a range of modules including:
- Contemporary Health Visiting
- Safeguard Children, Enable Families
- Global Health Economics & Health Systems
- Contemporary School Nursing
- Enhancing Wellbeing in Children & Young People
- Integrated Care of Children and Young People
External examiner responsibilities include moderation of assessment methods/samples/results and completion of an annual report. A schedule of module confirmation events per academic session will be made available and external examiners would be expected to complete external moderation in line with these dates. The School uses an electronic marking system associated with the originality checking programme Turnitin, called Grademark. External examiners are required to make use of the system during the external moderation process (this being accessible through the Virtual Learning Environment).
Experienced and new external examiners will be considered provided the applicant has the relevant professional qualification(s) and experience. Relevant professional experience/registration in the field of SCPHN and a valid teaching qualification are essential requirements for this post.
The appointment will be with effect from 1 October 2021 to 30 September 2025.
