The MSc Person-Centred Practice Framework has evolved from a review of the existing Framework that reflected the Division of Nursing’s burgeoning focus on person-centredness set within the contemporary context of health and social care integration and the global health and wellbeing agenda with its emphasis on the creation of integrated health systems that meet the needs of the person, families and communities (Scottish Government (SG) 2017, World Health Organisation (WHO) 2015). The Person-centred Practice Framework consists of a common core-foundation block which all learners must undertake as part of their studies. Learners additionally select a number of subject specific modules according to their specialism (referred to as pathways in the Framework). The pathways for which we are seeking a new External Examiner are: MSc Person-centred Practice (generic); MSc Person-centred Practice (Public Health and Wellbeing); MSc Person-centred Practice (Advancing Care Home Practice).
The modules to be examined are:
- Theory and practice of person-centred health and wellbeing
- Leading person-centred practice for health and wellbeing
- Public health perspectives across the lifespan 1
- Public health perspectives across the lifespan 2
- Advancing care home practice
A range of assessment strategies are utilised including written assignments, reflective accounts, community profiling, presentation, and e-portfolio.
