The School of Health and Care Professions (SHCP) is currently seeking to appoint an External Examiner for the Operating Department Practice Degree Apprenticeship programme, to commence this academic year 24/25. The standard period of appointment for an External Examiner is four academic years.
The External Examiners will be required to be present at the SHCP Module Assessment Board and the Board of Examiners’ meetings for the programme (at least one per year) and be available for consultation on assessment and curriculum issues.
All appointments are subject to approval by the University External Examiners Nomination Panel. The University runs regular induction seminars for recently appointed External Examiners. The aim of the seminars is to introduce External Examiners to the regulations and procedures of the University of Portsmouth, as well as providing an opportunity to meet University staff and other External Examiners.
You will also be invited to visit and attend additional sessions face to face or online with the Operating Department Practice course team.
Applicants are invited to submit an expression of interest with current Curriculum Vitae by Friday 19th April 2024 to chris.wells@port.ac.uk. The successful applicants will be sent an External Examiners Proposal Form. The completed proposal form together with the CV will be presented to the University External Examiners Nomination Panel.
