The School of Human and Health Sciences is seeking to appoint an external examiner for our MSc nursing programmes with a focus upon the child field of practice. This role involves reviewing work across a range of level 7 modules including field specific and mixed field modules including adult, mental health, child and learning disabilities fields of practice.

Working alongside our current external examiners, appointees will be required to contribute to the assessment process, moderate and report on student work, engage with students in the practice arena, attend at least one Course Assessment Boards per year, submit an annual report following which payment is made.

Appointees will be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, have relevant children’s nursing experience, and have academic qualifications to postgraduate level. Although previous experience as an external examiner is desirable, the School will make arrangements for new external examiners to have a mentor, where needed. An induction programme is provided for external examiners.

The appointment will be with immediate effect and will be for a full 4-year term. Full course details and documentation will be provided to the appointee and an induction day will be offered which will be held online following appointment.
