The School of Health and Social Wellbeing at The University of the West of England is seeking to appoint an experienced and suitably qualified External Examiner for Non-Medical Prescribing
This is an exciting opportunity to support the Department of Nursing and Midwifery which delivers multi-professional Independent and Supplementary prescribing programmes across the South West. The programme has accreditations with the NMC, the GPhC and the HCPC.
Essential: Applicants must be registered with the NMC or GPhC and hold V300 qualification/registration
Interested applicants must have relevant knowledge and experience in Non -Medical prescribing and have HE experience of teaching, managing and assessing students.
We particularly encourage applications from members of Black and Minority Ethnic communities, as this group is currently underrepresented among external examiners. We will support applicants who do not have prior experience of being an External Examiner.
The role requires external moderation of assessments, attendance at the Examination boards, completion of an Annual External Examiners Report and potential consultation on programme modifications. The External examiners operational guide can be accessed by using this link: https://www2.uwe.ac.uk/services/Marketing/about-us/cas/EE-ID-Ex-Exam-Operational-Guide.pdf
Programme details will be provided to the appointee and a full induction day will be offered. Further support will be provided by the Programme Leaders and module teams. The appointment will be with effect from October 2021 and will be for a period of four years.
