External Examiner – Non-Medical prescribing courses

The Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Hull wishes to appoint an External Examiner for our suite of Non-Medical prescribing courses:

  • Pharmacist Independent Prescribing
  • Physiotherapists, Podiatrist and Paramedic Independent (and supplementary) prescribing
  • Nurse and Midwife Independent (and supplementary) prescribing

The duties of the position are as follows:

  • Consideration and moderation of students’ assessments of theory and practice learning
  • Submission of an External Examiner’s Annual Report
  • Membership and attendance at Boards of Examiners
  • Collaboration with programme directors, module leaders and administrative colleagues to inform the continued monitoring, review and enhancement of these programmes.

External examiners appointments are typically for a period of four years and the appointment is for the start of the 2022 academic year. Applicants must have relevant experience and knowledge of non-medical prescribing programmes and be registered as a non-medical prescriber with either NMC (V300), HCPC or GPhC. Previous experience as an External Examiner is desirable.

Appointment is subject to meeting the university’s criteria for the appointment of External Examiners.
