The University of Central Lancashire (School of Sport and Health Sciences) are seeking to appoint an External Examiner for the MSc (pre reg) Physiotherapy Course. The School of Sport and Health Sciences has a wide range of Allied Health courses, at both BSc and MSc level, and is well established in the region as a provider of high quality AHP education. The MSc (pre reg) course has been running since September 2018 and has reapproved in Summer 2023 for a 2024 start of a new programme.
No external examining experience is required as full training will be provided, but it would be an advantage. If you are an inexperienced external examiner, the University will look to provide you with a mentor from existing external examiners. Due to university regulations a minimum level of qualification of a MSc is required to externally examine on a MSc programme.
Requirements of the role are as follows:
- Attendance at summer examination boards
- Review a range of assessments
- Engage in constructive discussions with the course team as appropriate, including conversation re the construction of the new programme design and delivery
- Complete external examiners report once per year
For informal discussions regarding the course please contact Greg Littler (course leader) GLittler@uclan.ac.uk. If you are interested in applying for this position, please contact Dr Heather Stewart (Principal lecturer) HCStewart@uclan.ac.uk with your expression of interest and CV.
