The College of Human and Health Sciences is seeking an external examiner for the MSc/PGDip Nursing Practice and MSc/PGDip Healthcare Practice. The two programmes are identical in terms of content, module availability and assessment but provide students with flexibility in the name of their award, depending on their professional background, clinical experience and career aspirations. The programmes provide a flexible approach to CPD for a range of healthcare professionals and nurses: through the core modules students will develop their knowledge around research, evidence-based practice, leadership and quality improvement alongside optional modules which will meet their individual learning needs.

Applicants should hold appropriate academic qualifications. We are looking for an external examiner who has experience of CPD modules and programmes. The successful applicant will be asked to attend one examination board per year and submit an annual report following this. External examiners are also required to provide comments on proposed modifications and the development of new modules within their area of expertise.

Previous external examiner experience is desirable; however, those new to external examining are strongly encouraged to apply.

Essential Criteria: Experience of delivering relevant Master postgraduate taught programmes at HEI level 7
