External Examiner – MSc Person-centred Practice (Palliative Care) and the Graduate Certificate in Palliative Care programmes

We seek an external examiner for the MSc Person-centred Practice (Palliative Care) and the Graduate Certificate in Palliative Care programmes to start in September 2024. Both programmes are run in partnership with St Columba’s Hospice Care and are open to health professionals working with people with palliative care needs. You will work alongside the Programme Leaders and Programme Teams. The programmes are part-time, delivered online through a combination of synchronous and asynchronous teaching. You will be responsible for a selection of modules from SCQF levels 9, 10 and 11.

The ideal candidate should have experience in the field of palliative care and of teaching and assessment in the higher education sector on either a nursing or an allied health professional programme. Possession of a masters degree is essential. Various assessment strategies are utilised, including written assignments, reflective accounts, presentations, and simulated recorded conversations.
