We are looking to appoint an External Examiner for two of our on-line Programmes, namely the MSc Nursing Online and e-PG Certificate in Professional and Higher Education.

The MSc Nursing is a new fully online asynchronous MSc programme in Nursing delivered through a carousel model. This programme adds to the portfolio of postgraduate provision offered within the School of Health Sciences and the growth of postgraduate provision in the Division of Nursing and Paramedic Science at Queen Margret University. The MSc Nursing marks a strategic move by QMU into online provision with a specialist partner, Higher Ed Partners (HEP).

The MSc programme will provide a distinctive specialism for students from a range of national and international settings to follow a taught series of online modules, culminating in a dissertation proposal. A focus on personhood, person-centredness and person-centred practice will underpin the programme. The programme will be attractive to an international field of professionally registered nurses. It is anticipated that these registered nurses will be working for health institutions including a range of health and wellbeing settings and are seeking to broaden their understanding of their role as registered nurses, learning in different contexts and conducting Masters’ level study in their specific area of practice. The students on the MSc Nursing programme are anticipated to be key to the lead for societal change through their professional practice, which will be deepened and developed through the engagement with their MSc programme and wider postgraduate community of practice.

The new MSc Nursing is to consist entirely of online, asynchronous modules for part-time students. The modules will be 15 credits (Level 11) with associated scale of assessments, with a final research proposal module of 30 credits.

The e-PgCert in Professional and Higher Education has been designed in response to the continuing professional development (CPD) needs of those professionals looking to become effective in facilitating and enhancing learning experiences. It may be of interest to nurses and midwives, allied health professionals, social workers, doctors, lecturers in any discipline and professional services staff. This dynamic, interactive and work-related course is delivered fully online.
