The Department of Nursing and Community Health is seeking to appoint two external examiners for the following Postgraduate programme:

MSc Nursing Advancing Professional Practice – Including the MSc/PgD Nursing Advancing Professional Practice (Advanced Nurse Practitioner) and MSc Nursing Advancing Professional Practice (district Nursing) – named awards

This is a post-qualification programme that offers a variety of routes on part-time and full-time bases. The programme is open to UK nurses (flexible programme), (trainee ANP/CNS) and international qualified nurses from all backgrounds, specialities and areas of practice.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified academic staff that will have experience of managing and assessing students on similar programmes, particularly those including ANP or advanced clinical practice programmes. Experience of external examining a range of assessment strategies including OSCE would be advantageous. Previous experience as an external examiner is not essential (EE). As an External Examiner you will be responsible for the external moderation of a range of modules as well as work-based learning and will be invited to review a selection of written work, OSCE, clinical logs, and exams. You would be expected to attend two Assessment Boards and submit a written report each year.

The period of tenure is for four years and will commence in September 2022.

All External Examiner appointments are subject to approval by the University. The University offers support for newly appointed external assessors.
