The Faculty of Health Sciences and Sport are seeking to appoint an External Examiner for the MSc Advancing Practice programme online modules.

The programme enables students to expand their health and social care expertise, gain new skills and make a difference to their practice. Working in partnership with clinical experts, patients and health and social care providers, the programme is designed for any healthcare professional working in a clinical, education, management or research role. The content of the programme takes cognisance of the health and social care needs of the population which continue to change on a global perspective with an ageing population with changing patterns of ill-health and use of health and social care services. It is reflective of contemporary healthcare and the needs of practitioners.

As an External Examiner you are required to:

  • Monitor the quality of the programme
  • Externally moderate assessed work
  • Attend Examination Boards
  • Complete an annual report
  • Comment on proposed programme modifications and developments.

Applicants should be suitably qualified academics. It would be desirable to have previous experience as an External Examiner, but this is not essential. All External Examiner appointments are subject to approval by the University’s Academic Council.
