The Nursing Studies team seeks to appoint a new External Examiner to support assessment, development and quality assurance on our two Masters Advanced Nursing programmes.
The MSc programmes (SCQF level 11) offer advanced study for nurses working within a national and/ or global context to enhance practice at the local level. The programmes are designed with students’ career prospects in mind offering students the flexibility to shape their programme according to their career aspirations in developing their careers in education, research, leadership or clinical practice (online only).
The Masters programme share core courses that are delivered both on-campus and online.
Both programmes draw on current theory, practice, research and innovation in nursing, health and social care and aim at developing students’ critical understanding of contemporary healthcare.
The programmes are designed to further develop students’ skills of being professional and critically reflective practitioners that can deliver evidence-based practice within a local and international context.

The Nursing Studies team is seeking to appoint an External Examiner to join our existing Examiners from October 2023. The appointment would be for a three-to-five-year period of tenure. You would be required to review work from a range of courses from both MSc programmes and review postgraduate dissertations. Our Master students have a variety of dissertation choices that include the writing of a research proposal, Dissertation by Portfolio or an empirical Dissertation.
Nominations are invited for this vacancy from suitably qualified and experienced individuals who hold an NMC registration. The examiner must possess a Doctorate and must have completed a postgraduate qualification in education.
