The Department of Health and Wellbeing, in the School of Allied Health & Community at the University of Worcester is seeking an External Examiner for the following programme:

Foundation Year for Healthcare Professions

The Foundation Year for Healthcare Professions provides students with fundamental knowledge and skills needed to start their journey towards a healthcare profession. The Foundation Year is taught to students who will progress onto professional courses in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Paramedic Science, Diagnostic Radiography or Nutrition and Dietetics. The appointment will be from September 2024.

Interested applicants must have relevant knowledge and clinical experience in health and social care and have HE experience of teaching, managing and assessing students on similar Undergraduate Degree courses. The role further requires external moderation of assessments, attendance at the Boards of Examiners and completion of an Annual External Examiners Report. Applicants are advised that the University applies the following criteria to external examiners:

  • Applicants should have recently been employed (or are still employed) within a university appointment.
  • Applicants must not have been a University of Worcester examiner within the last five years.

Programme details will be provided to the appointee and a full induction day will be offered.
