The School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work at Canterbury Christ Church University require an External Examiner for the Foundation Degree Nursing Associate and BSc (Hons) Nursing (Adult) Apprenticeship. The role would involve supporting the Programme Teams to ensure the maintenance of the highest academic standards across the courses (level 4 and 5). The period of tenure will include the next periodic course review (revalidation) for both courses and external examiner input will be required into this process.
The Courses were approved to the NMC Education and IFATE standards in 2019 and normally have one annual intake September. The role would involve the attendance, or input, at three Module Exam Boards held in Canterbury, one each trimester. The main progression and award board will be in August.
The successful applicant will be a Registered Nurse with a demonstrable academic career in a field nurse education linked to our professional portfolio which involves experience as a subject or programme manager and ideally with apprenticeship programme delivery.
