The Department of Health and Wellbeing, in the School of Allied Health & Community at the University of Worcester is seeking an External Examiner for the following programme:

Foundation Degree (FDCP) Counselling at Hereford, Ludlow and North Shropshire College

The University of Worcester’s Foundation Degree in Person Centred Counselling is delivered by our partner Hereford, Ludlow, and North Shropshire College. Interested applicants must have relevant knowledge, experience and qualifications in counselling and have experience of higher education teaching, managing and assessing students on similar Undergraduate Degree courses.

The role further requires external moderation of assessments, attendance at the Boards of Examiners and completion of an Annual External Examiners Report. Programme details will be provided to the appointee and a full induction day will be offered.

Applicants are advised that the University applies the following criteria to external examiners:

  • The area of expertise of external examiners is within the area of assessment undertaken.
  • Applicants should have recently been employed (or are still employed) within a university appointment.
  • Applicants must not have been a University of Worcester examiner within the last five years.
  • Applicants will have a recognised qualification in counselling and a first degree in a relevant field.
