External Examiner for V300 and Prescribing for Practice V150

The University of Wolverhampton requires an external examiner for the following course(s) within the Faculty of Education, Health and Wellbeing, School of Nursing

  • Post Graduate Certificate in Non-Medical Prescribing
  • Independent and Supplementary Prescribing for Nurses, Midwives and Allied Health Professionals
  • Postgraduate Credit Prescribing for Practice (V150) Level 7
  • Undergraduate Credit Prescribing for Practice (V150) Level 6

Essential Criteria:

  • Current NMC or HCPC Registration
  • Most hold an Independent Prescribing Qualification
  • The successful candidate will need to be a higher education academic with experience in course design and delivery at a minimum of Postgraduate level at a UK University or College.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Previous experience as an External Examiner
  • External examiners will be expected to monitor the quality of the coursework across the provisions. We are seeking candidates whose areas of expertise would enable them to monitor the quality of these courses and externally moderate assessed work.

External examiners are required to attend at least one assessment review board a year and completion of an Annual External Examiners report.

The appointment will commence on the 1st September 2024, and the tenure of appointment is usually for a period of four years. Please note we cannot accept applications if you have already been an External Examiner for our University in the last 5 years, or if one of our staff is already an Examiner in the same department at your home institution.
