The School of Medical and Health Sciences is seeking the appointment of an external examiner for the Medical Education Practice (MEP) Programme. The interprofessional School of Medical and Health Science has a focus on working with medical, health and care services to supporting innovation in health care. The School has and a world-leading profile in research, and in the recent REF 2021 Exercise, our research in Allied Health Professions, Dentistry, Nursing and Pharmacy was ranked 15th overall in the UK. Applications are invited from suitably qualified academic staff; applicants must be experienced in medical/health education, hold a HE teaching qualification and Advance HE Fellowship status (Principal or Senior Fellow). Experience of external examining would be an advantageous but is not essential.

The School operates on-line submission processes, marking and feedback of assignments. Experience of Turnitin and Blackboard would be desirable, however training will be provided. The post will contribute to the quality and integrity of the programme through external moderation of assessments. The role requires review of the PGCert, completion of monitoring reports and attendance at the Board of Examiners. The appointment will be with effect from September 2022 and will be for a full 4-year term. Full course details and documentation will be provided to the appointee and an induction day will be offered to be held at the University following appointment.
