The Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Hull wishes to appoint an External Examiner for our Professional Nurse Advocate Module. This is a recurring standalone Module that delivers education and restorative supervision for colleagues right across the Northeast of England. The programme launched in March 2021, towards the end of the third wave of COVID-19. This was the start of a critical point of recovery: for patients, for services and for our workforce.

The duties of the position are as follows:

  • Consideration and moderation of students’ assessments of theory and practice learning.
  • Submission of an External Examiner’s Annual Report
  • Membership and attendance at Boards of Examiners
  • Collaboration with module leaders and administrative colleagues to inform the continued monitoring, review and enhancement of these programmes.

External examiners’ appointments are typically for a period of four years and the appointment is for the start of the 2022 academic year. Applicants would preferably have relevant experience and knowledge of post-graduate level 7 programmes and knowledge of the Professional Nurse Advocate Role. Appointment is subject to meeting the University’s criteria for the appointment of External Examiners.
