The University of Central Lancashire is seeking to appoint experienced and suitably qualified academics to act as External Examiners for the FdSc Nursing Associate programme, The School of Nursing has a long tradition of delivering pre-registration nursing programmes, successfully validating and delivering a programme in line with the NMC Standards for Education, since September 2019. The programme delivery includes both full-time direct entry students and apprentice learners.
The successful applicant must be registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) and have relevant experience of working in adult nursing practice settings as well as teaching on a pre-registration nursing programme. S/he will review a number of modules within the Nursing Associate programme. This will include modules delivered at levels 4 and 5. An induction is provided that the appointee will be expected to attend, and ideally, the external examiner will have had experience of external examining.
The External Examiner will be expected to attend the programme assessment board, consider student work and contribute to the overall assessment process.
