Competitive salary of £200 annual flat fee, plus £20 for each student completer, The School of Health Sciences, within the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Nottingham is seeking to appoint an External Examiner for our Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (PGDip and MSc) programmes.
1. Details about the programme: The programme is fully accredited by the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) as an IAPT level 2 course. 2. External examiner responsibilities, regulations and requirements:
a) Responsibilities:
External examiner responsibilities include external moderation of assessments, completion of an annual monitoring report and attendance at Examination boards (at least one per year). The School uses an electronic marking system. External examiners are required to make use of the system during the external moderation process.

c) Requirements:
Applicants should have relevant academic and/or professional qualifications to at least the level of the qualification being externally examined. Relevant professional experience in the fields of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, professional registration with BABCP and a valid teaching qualification are essential requirements for this post.
It is preferable to have previous experience of external examining although support and guidance can be supplied for those new to this role. Please note where required the University will fund successful applicants to undertake the External Personal Development for External Examiners qualification delivered by the Advance HE.
The appointment will start from immediately September/October 2023 and will be for a period of four years.
