The Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Hull wishes to appoint an External Examiner for our stand alone 20 credit Enhancing Therapeutic Communication in Health and Social Care Practice level 6 module. This module provides clinical practitioners and students with relevant theory enabling them to utilise appropriate
counselling and communication skills in clinical practise.
The duties of the position are as follows:
- Consideration and moderation of students’ assessments of theory and practice learning.
- Submission of an External Examiner’s Annual Report
- Membership and attendance at Boards of Examiners
- Collaboration with programme directors, module leaders and administrative colleagues to inform the continued monitoring, review and enhancement of this module.
External examiners appointments are typically for a period of four years and the appointment is for the start of the 2024 academic year. Applicants would preferably have relevant experience in advanced communication skills within an oncology setting or similar clinical environment, and also knowledge of post-graduate level programmes and Advanced Practice as a subject area, however, other applicants may be considered.
Appointment is subject to meeting the university’s criteria for the appointment of External Examiners.
