External Examiner – Critical and Specialist Care Programmes

Oxford Brookes University is seeking to appoint an experienced and suitably qualified academic, as external examiner for the Critical and Specialist care undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and associated modules for a period of 4 years starting in September 2022.

The Critical Specialist care offer at Oxford Brookes University comprises four postgraduate certificates:

  • PG Cert in Cardiorespiratory Practice
  • PG Cert in Emergency Nursing Practice
  • PG Cert in Acute Care of the Older Person with Frailty

Each PGCert has 60 credits usually made up of 1 20 and 1 40 credit module with a total of 6 modules across these courses.

In addition, we run several modules in partnership with local NHS employers, which are:

  • Introduction to Patient Assessment NURS6019 L6
  • Adult Care of the Acutely Ill or Deteriorating Patient NURS6021 L6 & NURS7023 L7
  • Comprehensive Assessment of the Person with Frailty HCTR7001 L7
  • Acute Care: Assessment and Management of the Acutely Ill Adult L6 NURS6073 & L7 NURS7130
  • The Deteriorating Adult Patient L6 NURS6072 & L7 NURS7129
