The University of Gloucestershire is looking for an External Examiner for both the CERT HE in Health and Social Care and the CERT HE in Children Young People and Families. Both courses reside within the school of Health and Social Care and the teaching team branch across both programmes. Although courses in their own right, they both serve to offer a foundation into higher education. As such, each course duration is one year and is at level 4. Each programme comprises of 8 modules and therefore you will be responsible for reviewing 16 modules.

This programme will enable people to make a positive impact within the health and social care sector focusing on critical issues and global trends. The modules such as:

  • interpersonal skills,
  • professional practice,
  • social context,
  • human development,
  • mental health,
  • assessment and safeguarding
  • health care science in context;
  • provide students with the essential components to develop their knowledge, skills and values ready to either enter specialised practice or a progression degree course.

We are looking for someone:

  • who is suitably qualified with expertise in the above areas, ideally a Programme Leader or Senior Lecturer on similar programmes;
  • previous experience as an external examiner is essential /strongly preferred

The appointment will be for the four academic years 2023/24 to 2026/2027, starting from April 2023.
