St George’s University of London is seeking an external examiner to support the pre-registration BSc paramedic science programme. We are a friendly team with almost 400 pre-registration students. External Examiners are important members of the team, whose opinions are valued and acted upon.

We are looking for an HCPC registered paramedic employed within a higher education institution with at least two years of lecture experience, and five years post registration. The successful applicant will hold a minimum of a BSc in paramedic science. To ensure that there are no conflicts of interest you will not have studied at St George’s University within the previous 5 years.

We are looking to induct the successful applicant in early 2022. The role will involve providing feedback on four modules, across 3 academic levels, and will involve virtual or actual attendance at 2-3 exam boards per calendar year. This is an excellent development role for a paramedic lecturer, and the programme is in the process of revalidating for 2023 delivery. We will therefore be looking for a candidate who is energetic, enthusiastic, and looking to support the future proofing of a well established BSc programme. You will also be invited to attend workshops and on site OSCE’s if your availability allows. All OSCE’s are recorded, and external examiners will have access to the recordings to ensure video review. The position if for a 4 year tenure.

Applicants should forward the CV to Chris Baker before 16.00 on 31/01/2021. Further information about the programme can be found at: https://www.sgul.ac.uk/study/courses/paramedic-science
