The School of Psychology at the University of Plymouth is seeking to appoint a Subject External Examiner for the BSc (Hons) Psychology programme, a BPS accredited full time 3-year undergraduate course.
The appointment will commence 1st August 2021 with a term of four academic years. The commitment required is as follows:
- Reviewing a range of coursework and examination materials throughout the year. These duties are shared between two external examiners.
- Attending an assessment panel held each year in June and submission of an annual external examiner report.
- Engaging in communication with the programme team.
- Carrying out one interim engagement per year (which may take the form of a ‘virtual’ visit by video conference) and at least one face to face visit during the term of office to obtain feedback from staff and students on assessment in practice.
Essential Criteria: Currently working in a UK institution of higher education and extensive experience in the field of study.
Desirable Criteria: Previous experience as an external examiner.
