The Leicester School of Nursing and Midwifery at De Montfort University are seeking to appoint a new External Examiner for the BSc (hons), PG Diploma, and MSc in District Nursing (SPQ) programme with community practitioner nurse prescribing (V100). The programme team are working towards validating the programme against the new post-registration standards as a level 7 apprenticeship with an aim to commence a PG Dip in community nursing SPQ – District Nursing in September 2024.
The term of office will be for four academic years coming into effect from November 2023. Applications are invited from HEI employed lecturers who hold a district nursing qualification and are registered with the NMC. Knowledge of apprenticeships would be desirable but not essential.
You will be required to scrutinise and advise on curriculum development and design, standards and assessment, and to engage with assessment of both theory and practice elements of the programme. External Examiners are expected to attend assessment boards that are currently conducted online.
