Wrexham Glyndŵr University in North East Wales is looking to appoint an External Examiner for the BSc (Hons) Paramedic Science programme. This is a new programme commencing in September 2022 for the first time. Please note this programme is currently subject to approval for accreditation by the HCPC. We will not be able to make a formal contractual offer until we have had the outcome from the HCPC, which is expected by 1st August 2022.
Principle duties will include:
- Verifying all module assessments level 4-6
- Moderation of all module assessments level 4-6
- Attending assessment boards
- Commenting on proposed programme/module enhancements and developments
- To write an annual External Examiner report
Applicants should have subject expertise in the Paramedic Science subject area, and preferably External Examiner experience or have completed Advance HE training. The candidate should also be currently teaching in this subject area and have had curriculum design/development experience relating to higher academic level programmes.
Appointment will be for a period of 4 years starting with the academic year 2022/23. External Examiners are expected to review the assessment process and moderate work and attend the assessment board once a year usually in June / July.
