We are seeking to appoint one new External Examiner for our pre-registration nursing courses. Applicants must be registered with the NMC as a Mental Health Nurse and have experience of delivering pre-registration nursing programmes. The External Examiner team work across the mental health and adult nursing fields of practice and the Nursing Associate programme, as the courses are largely integrated, with field-specific modules being allocated to the appropriate Examiners. External Examiners attend Board of Examiners meetings at least once a year, submit an annual report and review coursework.
Previous experience of external examining is not necessary as the University is able to provide mentorship to the successful applicant and an online induction, and further support is provided by the Course Director. The appointment commences on 1 November 2021 and tenure is for four years. Appointments are subject to the candidate meeting the University’s criteria for appointment.
