We are seeking to appoint an external examiner for the BSc Health Care Studies (Nursing) programme within the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, Oxford Brookes University.
This programme is an 18-month nursing top-up degree from Diploma in Higher Education to BSc. It is delivered via a Flying Faculty of Oxford Brookes staff in Hong Kong. The students are qualified nurses looking for promotion within clinical settings. This is a theoretical programme of study with no clinical hours or professional competencies to achieve.
The suitable candidate for this role will be a registered nurse and will have experience of teaching on professional programmes in a university setting. Experience of external examining is desirable.
The appointment is from the beginning of September 2022 for a term of four years. External Examiners are required to moderate assessments, attend examination committees online or in Oxford when these take place in person, and to complete an annual report. External Examiners are also asked to provide comments on proposed modifications to modules and the development of new modules, within their area of expertise.
