The University of Bedfordshire, Faculty of Health and Social Sciences is seeking to appoint an external examiner to review the BSc (Hons) programme in Children and Young Peoples (CYP) Nursing. We offer both direct entry and apprenticeship programmes.
The University of Bedfordshire’s, School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health Education is seeking to appoint an external examiner to the above course. We have one intake a year which starts in September. We offer this course as an apprenticeship and direct entry route.
We are keen to recruit an academic with NMC registration as a CYP as well as appropriate experience working in a higher education setting of developing, teaching and assessing a CYP course at undergraduate level. Whilst external examiner experience is desirable, we also welcome expressions of interest from individuals new to this role.
The successful candidates will be offered an induction programme and will be supported throughout the duration of their tenure. New external examiners will be offered a mentor to support them in this role.
You will be invited to attend approximately 3 academic boards per year. You will also be invited to observe practical assessments (such as OSCEs) and visit students within practice areas. The specific remit includes review of units at academic level 4 to 6 contributing to the above awards.
The term of office for the successful candidate will be for a period of 4 years from September 2022.
