The School of Health Sciences is seeking the appointment of an External Examiner for the Bachelor of Midwifery (Hons) 3 year programme, 3 year part-time Masters in Midwifery Studies, and related PGCert and PGDip programmes [currently in development].

The midwifery undergraduate programme has received 100% in student satisfaction for the past 2 years, and the School has a world-leading profile in research in healthcare improvement, with a focus on working with professionals and health services and supporting innovation in health care.

The role will require oversight of our programmes, to include module reviewing and external moderation of assessments, completion of monitoring reports, the provision of guidance regarding the ongoing nature of the programmes as requested by the programme team, and attendance at the Boards of Examiners. This can be virtual attendance if preferred.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified academic staff who must hold current NMC registration as a midwife. Experience of external examining would be an advantage but is not essential.

The appointment will be with effect from September 2021 and will be for a full 4-year term. Full course details and documentation will be provided to the appointee and an induction day will be arranged following appointment.
