The Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Hull wishes to appoint an External Examiner for our Assessment and Support for Learners in Professional Practice (Mentorship) online modules.
The duties of the position are as follows:
- Consideration and moderation of students’ assessments of theory and practice learning.
- Submission of an External Examiner’s Annual Report.
- Membership and attendance at Boards of Examiners (can be online)
- Collaboration with programme, module leaders and administrative colleagues to inform the continued monitoring, review and enhancement of these modules.
External Examiners appointments are typically for a period of four years and the appointment is for the start of the 2023 academic year (Trimester 1).
The module is currently delivered to registered nurses and allied healthcare professionals. We are seeking to appoint an external examiner with NMC/HCPC registration.
Applicants would preferably have relevant experience and knowledge of post-graduate level programmes and the subject area but other applicants may be considered. Knowledge and experience of the standards required for professional healthcare and nursing preparation for registration would be advantageous.
Appointment is subject to meeting the university’s criteria for the appointment of External Examiners.
This continuing professional development (10 credit) level 6 module is delivered online, to registered healthcare professionals- using the canvas virtual learning environment.
